we had the septic system installed, built a shed/shop, and moved our tiny trailer permanently onto the land!

Septic System Designed & Installed

• Here in NY we need to have the septic system designed by an engineer. We began the process in 2018 of getting a proposal from an engineering company for the septic system and leach field. 
• The Blueprints were finally completed by the engineer and we got approval from the county in the fall of 2018 but unfortunately it was late in the year so the septic did not get installed until the summer of 2019.

• After the system was installed, we planted Agway Conservation Grass seed and some creeping thyme seed on our new leach field so that the soil would not be washed away with the weather. 

Build a Shed/Workshop

• We built a 10x10 Saltbox shed kit from Curtis Lumber. At least now we know that we can work together well when we build our house in a few years! 
• The shed has been a worthy investment not only for storage, but also for being used as a small workshop.
  

Trailer on the Homestead!

• ​This wasn't a necessity, but it made it much easier for us to really spend time on the land and get so much more done!​​
